Why I decided *not* to close down Paid to Exist

Depending on how long you’ve been around here, you might remember…

A couple of years ago I was seriously considering closing down Paid to Exist.

Despite being deeply invested in this community for five incredible years, my heart wasn’t in it in the same way it used to be.

Obviously, it was really hard to accept that. But it was the truth.

And as they say, you’ve got to face the music.

So for a while, I thought it made sense to honor that and close down this thing down.

But because of the immense outpouring I received from you, in the form of hundreds of comments and emails, I decided to keep this place alive.

YOU after all, are the reason I do this.

And still, I couldn’t deny that my heart felt like it was being split in two.

In the last couple of years I’ve been trying to keep PTE alive, while simultaneously working on my other passion (helping people uncage their bodies from domestication).

The result has been that with my focus divided, I haven’t been able to do PTE or my new passion the justice either really deserve.

Fast forward to today…

…and things start to get really interesting.

Let me explain. :)

A few weeks ago I unexpectedly met someone who is trying to build something very similar to Trailblazer.

Naturally, sharing a desire to help people uncage from society’s template of life, we hit it off.

He’s French, has a passion for hair metal, and quit his job years ago to work on his own terms.

Could it get any more perfect than that?

Well, turns out that it does.

His wife (Dominika) and him are a dynamic duo of awesomeness. Some might call them a power couple.

The parallels are too synchronistic to be coincidence. For years, Ev’Yan and I have worked together to help each other build our businesses (she’s been my private advisor with every major decision I’ve made… side note: always listen to your wife ;).

So, you can imagine that I’m intrigued, and wondering if there’s a potential here for a real partnership… a way that I can better serve PTE, while also freeing me up to pursue where my heart is calling me.

Because the hard truth is this:

I haven’t been doing PTE justice in the last couple of years.

I haven’t been serving YOU, really helping you in the way I know is really possible, so you can break free and live on your own terms.

Knowing that hurts. There’s no way to sugar coat it.

So, rather than just letting this unfortunate set of circumstances continue, I decided to do something about it.

I asked Cedric if he would be willing to come on board with PTE as a partner, as a way to breathe new life and passion into this community.

It’s the first time I’ve ever considered bringing someone on board, not just as a helper, but a full-fledged partner.

I was nervous at first, but getting to know Cedric, the knowledge he has, the unique skill set he brings, and most importantly, his unquenchable passion for helping people break free from the template life, I know that he is the perfect person for this job.

So, in the next few weeks, I’m excited to bring him on board, introduce you more to him, and let you get to know him.

He’ll be joining me on the Trailblazer mentorship calls, posting in the group, sending out emails, and generally having a big presence in this community.

Most importantly, he’ll be shaking things up, improving the hell out of things by bringing a fresh perspective, and adding new life to this tribe.

Oh and along with this, some other really BIG changes are coming very soon.

And I can’t wait to share them with you.

This change couldn’t have come at a better time, with the new year just around the corner. Paid to Exist is going to be changing and growing a LOT in 2017.

And I hope that with this new change with PTE, and the new year right around the corner that you live and work on your own terms more than ever.

More soon,

Jonathan

P.S. Thanks for being along for this crazy ride I’ve been on the last 7 years, especially those of you that have been around since the beginning. Your support means more to me than I can ever possibly express.

P.P.S. If you’d like to say “hi” to Cedric, you can hit reply here and I’ll forward it to him. I appreciate you giving him a warm welcome, he’s going to be a huge asset to the future of Paid to Exist.
